ANTONIS CHALDEOS researcher of Ρόδης (RODIS) family

Mr. Antonis CHALDEOS, young researcher, did a great research about my family living in AIGINA island. My ancestor Antonis RODIS was sailor and ship owner. His son Georgios, born 1842, married in 1868 in Braila, port on Danube, at that moment still under Ottoman rule. Georgios' wife, Theodora, was also Greek, born in Braila. According to their daughter's Varvara birth certificate, born 1872, mother of my mother's father, Georgios and Theodora were under Hellenic protection ! A great document for the researcher, Mr. Antonis CHALDEOS, was the electoral list from 1867, exactly 100 years before my birth year ! Georgios Rodis (1842-1926) & his family

Georgios Rodis was born in Aigina town, Aigina island, Greece, October 18, 1842. Son of Antonios and grandson of Konstantis (Konstantinos) According to Georgios' birth record his father Antonios was a shipowner: Georgios married on October 18, 1868 in Braila (in Greek language Vraila) with Theodora. Interesting is that was exactly his 26 years anniversary ! They had 3 children, Petre, Varvara and Tanase: Varvara is my great grandmother, called Antoniu because in the 19th century the family name of the newborn was the given name of the father... Later, in her first son marriage record she is mentioned "born RODIS". Many years I was looking for the death certificate and other civil records of Gheorghe Antoniu, because we thought this was his name.
